Vizsla originates from Hungary, Europe. There are two main theories regarding Vizsla history however. The wildly accepted belief is that Vizsla was a hunting dog of Magyars in the Carpatian Basin (Hungary) over one thousand years ago. This theory is supported by old stone etchings found in todays Hungary. The other theory suggests that Vizsla is much younger dog breed. According to this theory, Vizsla is a product of other pointer breeds crossed in the 19the century.
